1. About Us and This Policy
Gradonomics Educational Services ("Company", "we", "us", or "our"), operating under the Vedanga brand, publishes the Drishti mobile application ("App") for numerology practitioners on Android and iOS.
This Privacy Policy is prepared in compliance with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDPA), the Information Technology Act, 2000, the Information Technology (Reasonable Security Practices and Procedures and Sensitive Personal Data or Information) Rules, 2011, the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021, and other applicable Indian laws.
This Policy applies to:
- Practitioners — Users who download and use the App
- Clients — Third parties whose information a Practitioner may enter into the App during their practice
2. How Your Data Is Organised
The App handles two distinct types of information, and it's important to understand the difference:
(a) Technical data about the App itself — such as a session identifier and crash reports. The Company is the data fiduciary for this information.
(b) Client information you enter as a Practitioner — such as client names, birth dates, and your consultation notes. This information is stored only on your device. We do not access it, transmit it, or hold copies of it. As the Practitioner entering this information, you are the data fiduciary for your clients' data. You are responsible for obtaining their consent and keeping their information secure.
3. What We Collect
We collect only what is necessary to run the App reliably.
Automatically, when you launch the App:
- A randomly generated session identifier is created to maintain a technical session for your App instance. This identifier is not linked to your name, phone number, email, or any personal detail.
- Basic device and app information such as device type, operating system version, and App version — used to ensure the App runs correctly on your device.
- Crash reports — if the App encounters an error, a technical report is sent so we can fix bugs. Crash reports do not include your client information or notes.
When you contact us:
- Any information you voluntarily share, such as your name, email address, and the details of your query or feedback.
4. What We Do Not Collect
For clarity, the App does not collect:
- Your name, phone number, or email address (unless you contact us directly)
- Your location or GPS data
- Your contacts, calendar, files, or photos
- Any content of your client profiles or notes
- Any biometric or financial information
- Browsing activity outside the App
5. How We Use What We Collect
The limited data we collect is used only to:
- Keep the App running and stable
- Diagnose and fix bugs
- Respond to your queries when you contact us
We do not sell, rent, or share your data with third parties for commercial purposes. We do not use your data for advertising or profiling.
6. Where Your Data Is Stored
- Client information and your notes: stored only on your device. The Company has no access to it.
- Session identifier and crash reports: managed via Google Firebase, a backend service provided by Google LLC, which may store this data on servers located outside India. Google acts as our service provider and is bound by contractual and industry-standard privacy obligations.
We use industry-standard encryption (TLS) for any data transmitted between the App and our service providers.
7. Third-Party Services
The App uses the following third-party services:
- Google Firebase — for session management and crash reporting. Governed by Google's Privacy Policy at policies.google.com/privacy.
- Google Play Store (Android) and Apple App Store (iOS) — for distributing and updating the App.
When you use the App's "Share" feature to send a PDF or note via WhatsApp, email, or any other app installed on your device, that sharing is initiated entirely by you. The Company has no visibility into or control over that transfer. The privacy practices of the receiving app apply from that point onward.
8. How Long We Keep Data
- Session identifier and crash reports: retained by Firebase per Google's standard retention policies. Uninstalling the App will orphan the session on your device.
- Support communications: retained for up to 2 (two) years or as required by law.
- Client information and your notes: retained on your device until you delete it within the App or uninstall the App.
9. Your Rights Under Indian Law
Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you have the following rights:
- To know what personal data we hold about you
- To request correction or erasure of your personal data, subject to legal requirements
- To nominate another individual to exercise your rights in the event of your death or incapacity
- To withdraw consent where our processing is based on your consent
- To raise a grievance with our Grievance Officer
To exercise these rights, contact us at the details in Section 13. We will acknowledge your request within 48 hours and respond within 30 days.
10. Data Security
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect the limited data in our control, including restricted access, encryption in transit, and secure development practices.
Because your client information is stored on your device, we strongly recommend that you:
- Enable a screen lock or biometric authentication
- Do not share your device with unauthorised persons
- Keep your device's OS and the App updated
- Take periodic backups of your data
11. Children's Privacy
The App is intended for adult professional use. We do not knowingly collect personal data from individuals under 18. If you believe a minor has used the App or provided information through it, please contact us immediately.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated through an in-app notification or through an updated "Last Updated" date on this page. Continued use of the App after any changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Policy.
The current version of this Policy will always be available at: drishti.vedanga.in/privacy
